One family that lived way up in the mountains had heard that we might be able to help her daughter afford school and after she contacted us, we hiked up to talk to her about it. |

These are her children and their house in the background. We started thinking of ways to promote education and help children get and stay in school. |

With many children and a missing father, the woman who lives here explains her all to common situation. We decide to start a child sponsorship to help children like these who are caught in the middle of something they can't control. We want to enable them to go to school and give them an education in hopes of breaking this cycle. We got to start this program a year later, in April 2010, when we found sponsors for 17 high-school children, including her 12 year old daughter, Estela. |

We heard about a family of eight who had lost their house. The father had left. With a one year old baby and another boy in a cast, the mother could not work. They were staying with another large family in a one room house. We wanted to build them a house. So, we started fundraising and in April, 2010, we completed their new home. |
